New courses for the winter semester 2025/2026

Starting in the 2025/2026 winter semester, three new courses focusing on bicycle traffic will be offered in the Vwing master's programme.

The teaching and research area Radverkehr offers two new courses:

  • MVWING 2021 - 1.3-c ‘Data Acquisition in Bicycle Traffic’ is an elective component in the compulsory module MVWING 2021 - 1.3 ‘Data Acquisition and Data Quality’ (6 CP). Students have to choose between the new elective component ‘Data collection in cycling’ and the (now elective) component ‘Data collection in public transport’. Further information on the course can be found at: http://radverkehr.uni-wuppertal.de/de/studium/master/datengewinnung-im-radverkehr
  • MVWING 2025 – 5.20 ‘Modelling Choices in Transportation’ (6 CP) is a new module in the elective area. The module ‘Modelling Choices in Transportation’ is ‘English-friendly’, i.e. it will be conducted in English and/or German as agreed at the beginning of the semester. Further information on the course can be found at: http://radverkehr.uni-wuppertal.de/de/studium/master/modelling-choices-in-transportation
  • In addition, the chair for "Road Traffic Planning and Technology" (SVPT) will offer the new elective component ‘Project Design Planning - Bicycle Traffic’ starting in the 2026 summer semester. The new elective component allows students to delve deeper into cycling topics. The new component will be offered within the existing course on project design planning.

These courses cannot yet be taken for the VIS specialisation in the Master's programme in Civil Engineering. The changes will be made at a later date in the Master's programme in Civil Engineering.
