Research Visit at the ETH Zurich

The Chair of Bicycle Traffic participated in the CSFM Symposium at ETH Zurich.

From June 6th to June 8th, 2023, professor Heather Kaths, Aboozar Roosta, and Leonard Arning from the Chair of Bicycle Traffic visited ETH in Zurich, Switzerland to participate in the CSFM (Center for Sustainable Future Mobility) Symposium and the Ebike-City-Kolloquium on the 6th and 8th of June respectively. As part of their visit, they had the opportunity to meet with Professor Kay Axhausen and his research group to discuss their ongoing research on the Ebike-City project. They also had a separate meeting with Dr. Michail Makridis and his research group to discuss the latest trends and developments in microscopic simulation of bicycles.
During their visit, they had a meeting with Dr. Lukas Ambühl, Co-CEO of Transcality which is an ETH spin-off specializing in creating efficient mobility simulations through their digital twin platform. The discussion focused on recent advancements in automating simulation processes. They also had engaging conversations with researchers throughout their stay, exploring future developments in microscopic traffic simulation.
Concluding their visit on June 8th, Heather Kaths delivered a keynote speech titled "Microscopic Traffic Simulation for Bicycles" at the E-Bike City Colloquium. The recorded speech is available for listening via this link.
