Kick-off Workshop BIKEhub

13.07.2023|11:44 Uhr

On June 29, 2023, the kick-off workshop for the BIKEhub project took place at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal

Several topics were discussed, including the integration of the urban implementation concept into the intervention study, rough routing for the pilot, and further involvement of project participants. At 4 p.m., Professor Heather Kaths opened the meeting and welcomed all participants. After a brief round of introductions, the discussion opened with the question "When I think of cycling in Wuppertal, I think of...". Representatives from the city of Wuppertal gave input on the status of the approval of bicycle rental systems in the city area. After a break, small groups, during a co-design phase, conducted an actor mapping and talked about the course of the planned infrastructure development. This led to the joint identification of test routes for the project. Valuable input was gathered on the evaluation design of the research project. At the end of the event at 7 p.m., the initial question was asked again, with the addition of "When I think of cycling in Wuppertal in 2028, I think of..."

We would like to conclude by expressing our gratitude to all participants for their active participation and valuable contribution. We would like to encourage you to remain engaged and follow the developments in this project. On our website, we will keep you updated on the progress and inform you about further opportunities to get involved. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
