Discussions between the Chair of Bicycle Traffic and the citizens' initiative Miteinander Füreinander Heckinghausen have now resulted in a first joint action.

On 16.11.22 Manfred Meyers and Günter Wahle, representatives of the initiative, were guests at the Haspel campus to present their ideas for the Wuppertal cycle path ring to students at BUW. After a lecture in the rooms of the department, students and staff went on a discovery tour on their bicycles.

In bright sunshine, the cycle path ring convinced all participants with its beautiful perspectives and good views in terms of feasibility. It offers many beautiful views of Wuppertal and construction measures are only necessary in some places, as many sections are already part of the road network.

For a next joint step, it is now being considered where the Chair of Bicycle Traffic and the initiative can work together to give the idea further impetus on its way to full implementation.
