Building Cycling Futures Kick-Off Workshop at CRBAM22
On October 7th, the Building Cycling Futures project held its kick-off event at the 6th Annual Meeting of the Cycling Research Board in Amsterdam. To introduce the new international master’s degree programme on Cycling Futures to this interdisciplinary community of cycling exerts, the BCF team organised an interactive workshop to discuss the potential content and purpose of this future study programme. Organised together with Prof. Dr. Heather Kaths and Peter Kersten, Cat Silva ran the workshop with on-site support from Leonard Arning.
Twenty-four academics, professionals, and advocates jointed in the workshop and helped brainstorm ideas for the curriculum to be included in the new study programme. The participants offered their insights into the knowledge areas, perspectives, and skillsets that our students must understand have successful careers conceiving, promoting, creating, and managing the cycling cities of tomorrow. Learning from the fruitful discussions, the BCF team is reflecting on the preliminary study programme design and bringing in the ideas that came up through this fruitful workshop.
