Comparison of modelling approaches of bicycle traffic in macroscopic transport models
Description
Within an applied mFUND project, mode and route choice models of bicycle traffic are to be further developed on the basis of data from the Stadtradeln campaign, with the aim of differentiating between pedelecs and non-electric bicycles. In this thesis, existing approaches for bicycle traffic modelling will be identified and compared from the literature and the provided municipal traffic models. Experience or interest in modelling software would be advantageous.
Research Questions
- What modelling approaches for mode and route choice of bicycle traffic are used in practice?
- What are advantages and disadvantages?
